Ruka is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the North-East of Finland, just below the Arctic Circle. Ruka is known as the “Gateway to Lapland” and was recently voted as one of Finland’s best ski resorts. The resort offers unmissable opportunities for reindeer, husky or snowmobile safaris through the forests. During the winter season in Lapland the daylight hours are shorter and the sky is of a mystical polar blue. The darkness will not hold you back from skiing as the slopes in Ruka are floodlit so that you can continue into the evening.
