Horse Riding Adventures

The Finnish horse is a traditional breed that has been used for all-round work in Lapland for centuries. It is a large, robust breed known for its reliability and friendliness. The owners of the stable have over 20 years experience with horses.

They are friendly and welcoming and always delighted to help new riders experience the joy of riding in this picturesque location. Even for experienced riders the feeling of your horse taking steps through deep, soft snow is something few of you will have experienced.

Western saddles are used and you will be given a short introduction in the arena before heading into the forest. For those wanting a less demanding experience you may join a horse sleigh ride through the trees.

Forest Hack

After collecting your helmet and gloves you will lead your horse to the arena where you will receive basic instructions before heading out. During the 1 hour ride you will hack through the snowy forest, usually through deep snow. This is a magical feeling and one that really allows you to appreciate the nature around you. On returning to the stables you will enjoy a warm drink and home baked pastries around a campfire before returning to Luosto.
